May 11, 2006:

Amy wrote to the ULF: I am a phsical therapist who works at a clinic that has 2 young children who have been diagnosed with Leukodystrophy. I am training for the Iroman Wisconsin Triathlon in September, 2006 and I would like to raise money for leukodystrophy research in the names of Sarah Bolton and Danielle Sacchetti.

Amy sent a letter to her family and friends telling them what she was planning and with that simple act Amy Taylor-Haas raised over $5,000.00 for leukodystrophy research. 

September 10, 2006:

The Iromman went very well for Amy she came 671 our of 2,460+ athletes. She finished in 12 hours, 24 minutes and 31 seconds. She was amazing; reported Darren Bolton who along with wife Karen and Daughter Sarah went to Wisconsin on a very cold and wet day to cheer Amy on.
