SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

At the United Leukodystrophy Foundation (ULF), At ULF, we are committed to assisting families who might not be able to attend the conference because of financial circumstances. Our scholarship program is designed to provide support for those facing financial hardship, making it easier to join this vital event.
- Application Deadline: February 14, 2025
- Notification of Status: Applicants will be notified during the week of March 2, 2025.
- Application Process: To apply, complete and submit the application below
Important Note: If you are applying for a scholarship, please do not register for the conference until you have received your application status the week of March 2nd. Instructions for scholarship recipients will be provided upon notification via email. Scholarship recipients will still be responsible for registration fees: $25 per adult and $15 per child.
What the Scholarship Covers
- A hotel room for three nights (check-in Thursday, June 26th through check-out Sunday, June 29th).
- Meals during the conference (Thursday, June 26th Welcome Dinner through Sunday, June 29th Breakfast)
Please note: Travel costs are not included in the scholarship. Families seeking travel assistance can explore resources available on our website here,(link: ulf.org/resources/financial-assistance/ )or consider reaching out to your local community organizations.
Expectations for Scholarship Recipients
- Attend conference sessions on both Friday and Saturday.
- Participate in evening activities during the conference.
- Complete a post-conference survey to provide feedback and help us improve future events.
Eligibility Requirements
- Open to all leukodystrophy types.
- Applicable at any stage of diagnosis (newly diagnosed, long-term affected, etc.).
- Open to both domestic and international applicants. (International applicants are responsible for obtaining their own VISA, as ULF cannot provide support for the VISA application process.)
- Applicants must submit a statement of financial need.
Preference Will Be Given To:
- Newly diagnosed families who have not previously attended the Conference.
- Families attending the Conference for the first time.
- Families who have not received scholarship funds to attend the Conference in prior years.
Waitlist Details
Scholarship applications submitted after the February 14, 2025, deadline will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and placed on a waitlist. Families on the waitlist will be notified by email as soon as possible if funding becomes available.
