The ULF is involved in research in a few different ways. Of course one of our main focuses is funding leukodystrophy projects, but we also advocate for the expansion of Newborn Screening efforts and promoting clinical trials for improved treatments and therapies.
In the future, the ULF will be focusing efforts into cultivating opportunities for young researchers to become more involved in the field. We have so many researchers who have made huge strides over the years, but that progress can only continue if we ensure that there are upcoming researchers with the resources they need to succeed in the field. This program is still in development, but we hope to share our planned initiatives with the community in the next year or so.
