The 2017 Annual ULF Scientific Symposium and Family Conference will be held at The Commons Hotel, a boutique venue on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, the last week of July. On Thursday evening, there will be an opportunity for families and medical professionals to mingle during a cocktail reception and informal dinner.
Join us for fascinating presentations, informal roundtable discussions, live and silent auctions, and networking. Learn about the latest medical advances in the leukodystrophy field.
To make it more affordable for families, attendee fees have been drastically reduced this year. The 2-day Family Conference is $90 for a ULF member, $100 Early Bird per non-member, and $200 after the Early Bird deadline of June 30th. There is no fee for children to attend, and there will be a supervised children’s activity room on Friday and Saturday with games, movies, toys, and art projects. When making a reservation at The Commons Hotel, be sure to ask for the United Leukodystrophy Foundation room block for the reduced room rate of $129 per night plus taxes. This rate closes on June 30th. Reserve your room on-line or call the hotel at 612-362-6608. Accessible rooms are available. There is a workout room in the hotel, plus a large Starbucks and two restaurants. There is limited free parking, as well as a parking structure across the street with fees that max out at $12/day.
The University Recreation and Wellness Center is right across the street from our hotel, and free day-passes are available at the front desk. The Rec Center offers 6 floors of fitness equipment, wall climbing, swimming, and more.
You might wish to add on extra days to your trip to enjoy the many activities and attractions in Minneapolis, such as the Mill City Museum, Sculpture Garden, U.S. Bank Stadium (home of the 2018 Super Bowl), Science Museum of MN, and Minnehaha Park with its 55-foot-high waterfall. The city is connected by the Light Rail System, an inexpensive, accessible way to travel through town. There is a rail station steps from our hotel with easy access to downtown, Mall of America, and the airport.
